New Moon- one of the famous Twilight Vampire Love Story Series has been one of the in demand film suitable for vampire series. Here are the following reasons of the said opinion: The first Twilight movie, based on the series of books by Stephenie Meyer, revealed the romantic side of the then scary blood sucking vampires. Meyer’s illustration about the existing tension between vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and ordinary mortal Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart)’s love story awakened people’s curiosity
towards this mystic creature. As a result, they became addictive towards several vampire shows.
In the story, Edward dumped Bella for her own protection. This sad segment of the movie created a romantic plot twist that aroused viewer’s interest. Bella’s newfound freedom and Stewart’s much stronger performance that imprinted the series’ second film with a more forceful pulse. It created a variation which distinguished the film’s director and screenwriter from the novel. The darker subject matter suited Stewart well. Director Chris Weitz (About a Boy, The Golden Compass) observes Bella’s depression without making it longer. As the post-breakup months tick by, the camera spins around Bella’s bedroom where she sits, listless, listening to sad songs by Lykke Li.
Meanwhile, R Patz — whose character is less central to this film’s plotline — isn’t exactly missed, either, no doubt a disappointing realization for Team Edward (aka Twilight fans who prefer Pattinson’s character as the lead male protagonist). Stewart and Pattinson’s cautious public behavior — a response to rumors of a real-life romance — only underscores the occasional ridiculousness of their characters’ obsessive attachment. The chemistry that propelled the first film is fading and Pattinson seems stymied by its absence.
Those who saw Twilight might remember the first time Edward caught a whiff of Bella and fought the urge to devour her: Pattinson’s nostrils flared, and he appeared somewhat constipated. That’s how he looks all the time in the sequel. It’s not entirely the actor’s fault — as a character, Edward is a relentless killjoy, an ice-cold ball of suppressed desire. But for whatever reason, Pattinson cannot summon genuine emotion without looking like he just smelled something awful.
So Bella turns to Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), her Native American best friend, for consolation, hanging out on his reservation, where none of the boys wear shirts (including Lautner, who added 30 pounds of chiseled muscle for the role), adrenaline tends to be contagious — oh yeah, and everyone’s secretly a werewolf. Before long, she’s zooming around on motorbikes and diving off cliffs, but not just for the hell of it.
Flirting with danger brings her closer to Edward; she hallucinates his ghostly apparition whenever she takes life-threatening risks. This is a classic example of the wish fulfillment that defines the Twilight series: In real life, acting suicidal doesn’t win anybody back. But, then again, in real life, dudes don’t dump you because they love you too much.
Lautner’s Jacob is refreshingly amiable. He offers Bella what she can never have with Edward: a good time. This dichotomy develops over the rest of the series but it works better in New Moon than it ever does again. For the audience, if not for Bella, there’s a certain satisfaction in knowing that true love is never far away — so why not live a little first?
Meanwhile, Weitz, who replaced Twilight‘s Catherine Hardwicke, and returning screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg seem energized by the events of the second book, which they remain faithful to. But Rosenberg has a little more fun with the source material this time, like when Bella joins her high school friends for a movie, and they choose between purposefully absurd titles like Love Spelled Backwards Still Spells Love and Face Punch. Also, Up in the Air‘s impressive Anna Kendrick, who reprises her all-too-small role as Bella’s friend Jessica, goes on an amusingly indignant rant about zombies.
By the time Bella takes off to Italy to stop Edward from sparkling in public and incurring the wrath of the Volturi (the vampire governing body — just roll with it), a lot has already happened. I would have been resistant to the special-effects-heavy showdown if actors Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning didn’t relish their evil roles so delightfully.
And even as the reunited lovers rush to sacrifice themselves to save the other (groan), there’s levity from the rest of the Volturi, who behave like an ancient vamp version of a Project Runway panel. Meyer never had the savvy to wink at her audience like this.
New Moon Movie Trailer:
Volturi Vampires and New Moon
The Volturi were first shown in New Moon.
Near the beginning of New Moon, Edward told Bella that irritating the Volturi was the perfect way to get her slaughtered. When Edward thought Bella killed herself, he went to Volterra to ask the Volturi to kill him; the Volturi refused. Aro, in particular, wanted Edward to join them, and Edward decided to force their hand by exposing himself to the humans of the city. Bella and Alice, however, were able to arrive in the city and find him before he revealed and got himself killed. Several guards, (Jane, Felix, & Demitri) brought Edward, Alice, and Bella back to Aro, Marcus, and Caius. Aro was intrigued when he saw Bella was immune to Jane’s & Edward’s powers. After Edward, Alice, and Bella refused to join the Volturi, Caius told them that Bella, because she knew their secrets, had to either die or become a vampire, which Edward refused to allow happen. But Alice was able to convince them to let them go when she said she saw a vision of Bella becoming a vampire in the future.
It’s History:
The Volturi is an ancient and powerful clan of vampires. Most of them are identified as royalty in humans. They operate from the city of Volterra, Italy. The clan has existed for more or less than thousand years. They are known as the largest existing clan. As a reader of several vampire series, one has to know that other vampire clans such as Carlisle’s family, the Olympic Coven, Tanya’s, the Denali Coven also exist. These covens are smaller and less powerful than Vulturi Vampires. Unlike Edward’s clan, these vampire groups do not follow a “vegetarian” diet, as seen in New Moon. They capture and murder several humans in a carefully planned “meal”. They are considered the de facto royal family of vampires. The Volturi deal swiftly and decisively with anything they consider a threat to their city, or to the vampire world. They tend to protect vampires existence in secret. They destroy anyone who attempts to overthrow them or resist their authority. At Caius’ insistence, they also have hunted animal werewolves to near extinction in Europe and Asia.
The Volturi coven was founded by Aro. When the coven was strong enough, the Volturi was able to grab the vampire world from the Romanian Coven. The latter tried to regain its lost power of the kingdom but they failed.
By the start of the series, Volturi were at reign. During that time, they did a number of things to ensure stability in the world by means of eliminating Immortal Children and cleaning up the remnants of the Vampire Wars in the southern parts of America. At some point, Caius was almost killed in a fight with a werewolf. With his fear, he pushed the Volturi to hunt them to near extinction in Europe and Asia.
The Volturi in the 1700s.
At one time, Marcus and his wife Didyme, who was also Aro’s sister, planned to leave Volturi. Aro despite his annoyance, appeared to give them his support. However, Aro later secretly killed Didyme to prevent Marcus from leaving.
Carlisle, at one time, came to stay with them. The Volturi liked him greatly, but were unable to persuade him to hunt humans instead of animals. Carlisle eventually left, and established his own coven in America. Eleazar also was once part of the Volturi Guard, but left with Carmen. The two later found the Denali Coven and stayed with them.
Volturi’s Home:
Volterra, Italy is a town in the Tuscany region of Italy. In the Twilight series, it is the ancient Italian city where the Volturi reside. It is very beautiful and is known as the safest place in the world from vampire attack. The Volturi do not permit any sort of hunting there as they do not like anything that could expose them.
In New Moon, the city is seen celebrating Saint Marcus Day, It is said that the celebration Sait Marcus of Volturi, drives away all vampires away from the city.
Originally, Stephenie Meyer planned to have the Volturi live in a fictional city called “Volturin”. She had decided that the city would be in Tuscany, and that its main square would contain a clock tower. After examining a map of the region, she discovered Volterra close to where she was going to set Volturin, and learned that it also had a clock tower like the one she had described for her city. Thus, she decided to use the real city of Volterra in the second of her series books which became a film.
In the film, Volterra scenes were shoot in Montepulciano, Italy. The biggest problem the people of Volterra had with Stephenie’s book was the fact that Bella ran through a fountain to get to Edward when there is no fountain in the actual main square of Volterra. So the producers built one in the center of the filming location.
Volturi Vampire’s Powers:
The Volturi are known for their amazing and super powers. Jane and Alec, twins and members of the guard, are known and praised for owning the most useful powers. Jane can make peoplefeel pain. This excruciating pain makes it easy for the Volturi to attack and destroy their enemies. Alec’s powers are also useful for attacks. He can cut off all senses and make them blind, deaf or numb. Alec has the ability kill victims in a subtle way. Aro, one of the leaders, can hear every single thought a person/vampire has ever had upon making physical contact with that person. Marcus, also one of the leaders, can sense relationships. Demetri, a member of the guard, is a tracker. He can track a person down once he has the tenor of their mind. He is known as the best tracker in the vampire world. Renata, also a member of the guard, is a shield. She shields Aro and stands by his side at all times. On the other hand, the rest of Volturi Vampire’s super powers are also mentioned in Mayers last Vampire Series entitled Breaking of Dawn.
